Andy's cloak and dagger Corrie return.
CORONATION Street star Oliver Farnworth has revealed the hush-hush tactics used to keep his sensational storyline a secret.
The actor has been sworn to secrecy for eight months after his character Andy Carver was supposedly killed by builder Pat Phelan - and he was smuggled on to set under blankets to avoid revealing Andy was alive.
It was revealed on Friday that Phelan has been holding him hostage in a basement.
Farnworth said he had a meeting with producer Kate Oates when he left in January to discuss the possibility of Andy being alive and returning.
He said: "It's a secret I've had to keep for pretty much the last eight months.
"We have some ingenious ways of getting me to set, sneaking me in.
"I go halfway in my own blacked-out car like some sort of diva and then switch with our production manager.
"He gets in the car, I get in the back of a knackered old Land Rover with a load of blankets on my head and we arrive at the same time because there are always paparazzi."
