ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2003

Andrew Corporation (NASDAQ:ANDW) today announced that it will open a manufacturing facility in Brno, the second-largest city in the Czech Republic. The company has signed a build-to-suit lease with CTP Project Invest s.r.o. for a 100,000 square-foot facility in Brno's Central Trade Park (CTP) industrial zone. The facility will be completed and in production by the end of September 2003.

"Brno is an outstanding strategic location in Central Europe as it positions us to do business more efficiently with customers in a number of important regional markets," said Robert J. Hudzik, Vice President, Corporate Development, Andrew Corporation. "The opening of the Andrew Brno facility is also an important milestone in our ongoing operational restructuring, an action plan that is enhancing our market leadership in wireless infrastructure."

"The Brno facility opening is another step towards achieving $40 million in annual savings from our company's restructuring plan. The overall plan, announced in September 2002, is ahead of schedule and is expected to provide full plan cost reduction benefits along with a strengthened competitive position by September 2003," said Ralph Faison, Andrew President and CEO.

Andrew Corporation's Brno facility will employ 300 people and will be used for manufacturing microwave antennas and other wireless equipment for European markets. While the Brno facility is being constructed, Andrew is temporarily occupying two smaller leased facilities in Brno.

The city of Brno is an exceptional European gateway with good road, rail, airport, and border crossing links to facilitate fast and efficient transportation of Andrew products to customers throughout Europe and beyond. Brno's Central Trade Park (CTP) is only fifteen minutes way from the center of Brno. The CTP is conveniently located on the highway from Brno to Vienna and the intersection of the highways from Prague to Bratislava and Olomouc. Prague is just 200 kilometers from Brno. The area of Brno also has a long history and tradition of engineering excellence, which has enabled Andrew to select its local Brno workforce from a pool of talented, educated, and well-trained people.
