Andorra : Avenida Meritxell, Vivand and Fener Boulevard are unified commercially under the motto The Shopping Mile.

The new Central Axis of Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany (ECAEE) is created that encompasses Avenida Meritxell, Vivand and Fener Boulevard with the objective of offering a homogeneous commercial image of the commercial area of ??the center of the country.

Today in the evening, this new entity has been presented to the commercial sector that is known to the general public under the motto The ShoppingMile. This commercial area has more than one kilometer and a half distance that includes the beginning of Avenida Meritxell - in Rebs square - to the junction of Charlemagne Avenue - on the Avenue of the Schools - including also Fener Boulevard.

It is one of the areas with the highest tourist inflow, along with Pas de la Casa, and has a wide commercial offer where you can find the leading brands in fashion and accessories, electronics, sports, perfumes and jewelery, others.

With the implementation of the new Central Axis Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany, one of the main actions detailed in the Strategic Tourism Tourism Plan is being implemented, promoted by the Ministries of Tourism and Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation.

In this way, the first strategic bases are established to reposition Andorra as a destination for international purchases. With an understandable image for both residents and tourists, and after different embellishment work on the part of the two communes, it is now unified under the same visual identity.

The chosen language is English, especially in the shopping sector, and will facilitate the communication and internationalization of the new commercial axis.

The project for the unification of the three commercial streets starts ten years ago. In 2009, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services made the first contacts with the Communes of Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany, the Government of Andorra and the various associations of traders to start working on the creation of an area pedestrianized road to Meritxell and Charlemagne avenues.

Later on, Vivand was created in 2013 and last year the different embellishment works that were carried out on Avenida Meritxell and then Vivand were followed. All these improvements and the joint will to unify efforts have resulted in the creation of this new association. The Shopping mile, is created with the intention of being present in the top of mind of the current and potential tourists that travel to Andorra motivated by the offer of purchases offered by the country.
