Ancestry day; NORTH TODAY HISTORY.

BUDDING historians wanting to find out more about their Irish ancestors are being invited to an ancestry day.

The event will take place on St Patrick's Day on Saturday, at Central Library, Prince Georg Square, South Shields.

It is being run in partnership with South Tyneside Local Studies and Northumbria University and Durham and Northumberland Ancestry.

There will be stalls from the NDFHS and various displays in the lending library. The event begins at 9.30am with a workshop, followed by a short film. The event, which ends at 3.45pm, also includes a session of tracing Irish ancestry on the internet.
