Critical reviews in combinatorial chemistry

RS419

A lot has changed since publication of the first edition in 2000 and Yan (chemical biology and therapeutics, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) and Zhang (analytical chemistry, Shandong U.) thoroughly update their volume on analytical methods. Reaction optimization using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), mass spectroscopy (MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods, and spectrophotometric techniques receive much attention, within the context of building combinatorial libraries. Special attention is also devoted to resin swelling as an example of the application of analytical methods. All chapters have been updated, with special emphasis on high-throughput analytical methods and a new chapter on methods for high-throughput purification. The volume ends with a general description of analytical challenges facing future research.
