An Update on Northern Foods

Much development work and investment is currently going on at Northern Foods.

As their annual report reminds us, they have recently completed another phase of investment at the Ashby Dairy Co, where they effort has been to increase capacity and improve production and quality control. At Gunstones Bakery they have begun a 13m [pounds]. investment programme that includes the rebuilding and extension of their sandwich production facilities. Then, at Palethorpes they have begun a two-year investment programme which will extend their facilities.

Because of cost considerations, they have closed the T N Parr sausage factory and production is being transferred to the Bowyers Trowbridge factory. We understand this move will be complete by the Autumn.
