An exceedingly bad deal, Asda.
Byline: WILL LYON reporters@dailyrecord.co.ukYOU Asda be joking Shoppers in search of a sweet treat found "reduced" cakes on sale - at almost six times the previous price.
And while the Mr Kipling caramel slices might live up to their "exceedingly good" slogan, buyers certainly weren't expecting to shell out nearly PS6 for them.
The pricing blunder - raising the PS1 treats to PS5.88 - was discovered at Asda's Aberdeen Beach superstore.
Within minutes of machine operator Alan Milton, 40, posting it on Facebook, more than 100 people had "liked" the photo and dozens had written sarcastic comments.
Steven Ross wrote: "Yes, but they are Exceedingly Good."
Michael Brands added: "They will still claim it's cheaper than Tesco."
Alan said the rest of the packets were reduced to 58p and guessed a member of staff had made a mistake labelling the final product.
He said: "It just caught my eye. The rest were 58p, so obviously this PS5.88 one was just a typo. I just thought, 'I'm definitely not buying that one.'"
