INDONESIA -- An Indonesian court has found the cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir guilty of conspiracy over the 2002 Bali bombings, in which 202 people died.IRAN -- Plans to continue the development of nuclear power, which it contends is solely for the peaceful production of energy, and not for producing nuclear weapons. It claims that as a sovereign nation, it has the right to do so, and that they must start creating the energy infrastructure that will be needed when their finite supply of oil runs out in a matter of decades.
They have recently signed a deal with Russia, where Russia will provide Iran with technological assistance and fuel for their nuclear power plant, on the condition that Iran returns spent fuel rods back to Russia.
The Bush Administration continues to try to convince Iran to abandon their nuclear ambitions, and insists that Iran is pursuing nuclear technology for weapons of mass destruction. While Bush claims that the United States is not considering attacking Iran's nuclear facilities, he maintains that "all options are on the table."
