TRAGIC Amy Winehouse was forced to perform while "barely conscious" after a five-day booze bender, a pal has claimed.

Tyler James said the Rehab star, who died aged 27 in 2011, was taken on to a jet for her final European tour despite being "delirious and weak". The former Voice UK runner-up, 39, recalled: "It was a full-blown relapse, and she drank for five days.

"Every day management came round, and every day they'd tell me I needed to get her to stop.

"The day of the show, the boys picked Amy up off the sofa and put her in the car. She was barely conscious."

In his new book My Amy, Tyler, who knew the singer since they were teens, added: "She was semiunconscious, the result of five days' solid drinking." Her management then called off the tour.

A source close to the management said: "She rehearsed for the tour well and it was hoped it might be a good move to take her out of her usual environment where she was drinking. When it turned out badly, the tour was scrapped after the first night."
