Amy Macdonald has split from footballer fiance Steve Lovell.

The couple parted ways a few weeks ago, more than four years after the striker, 31, proposed during a romantic break in the Caribbean.

But the Scottish singer, 24, has insisted there is no bad blood between the two.

She says she will make music her priority as she releases her third album Life in a Beautiful Light.

Amy said: "We're not together any more so I am definitely not going to get married.

"It's been a little while now but it's just one of those things. It was totally amicable."

Asked if there was a new man in her life, she said: "Definitely not. I'm concentrating on my music."

The star has a string of summer festival appearances lined up.

She said: "I'm basically away for three weeks at a time, with one day home to wash all my clothes and pack all my cases and then I'm off again.

"But I'm really lucky as I've got great managers who are probably two of my best friends now and I've got a great band and crew."

The break-up comes just a year after the couple bought an pounds 800,000 house together on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Last year Lovell - who played for Dundee, Aberdeen, Falkirk and Partick Thistle - retired due to persistent injury.
