SOMETHING rather peculiar is happening on file-sharing networks like AudioGalaxy, Gnutella or KaZaa.

A large number of fake MP3 files have surfaced pretending to be bootlegs of tracks from Eminem, right, and No Doubt. Instead, they loop the same lines over and over again.

Conspiracy theorists reckon it's the record labels trying to stick a spanner in the works of illegal MP3 sharing. Others reckon it's some suburban housewife on a crusade because she's offended by the lyrics.

It might just that the songs were always meant to be that boring...
