Money laundering and terrorist's financial activities have wreaked havoc on the global financial system. As more sophisticated and new modalities are used to execute complex money laundering schemes to help fund terrorists, finance directors and compliance officers will need to work closely with the organization's governing board and corporate counsel to plug up any leaks which could open the door to illicit activity.

In a two-hour Live webcast assembled by the Knowledge Group, a panel of AML/CTF specialists and thought leaders will discuss the latest money laundering and terrorist financing trends and typologies in banking and finance. In addition to a walk through on AML/CTF regulations, the speakers will offer valuable insights on how to apply international best practices and develop effective strategic tools in strengthening your risk reduction process to prevent the catastrophic impact of money laundering and terrorist financing.

About Dr. Amit Kumar

Dr. Amit Kumar is the Fellow for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism at the Center for National Policy in Washington DC; and Adjunct Associate Professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City as well as an affiliate faculty with John Jay's Centre on Terrorism, where he created and teaches the 800 level Graduate Course in Terrorist Financing. For his outstanding teaching performance, Dr. Kumar has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for encouraging and guiding students on the Dean's List. Current projects include co-editing a Comprehensive Textbook on Terrorist Financing. Dr. Kumar's work has been recently cited in congressional testimony. Dr. Kumar is an invited speaker to talk on the new FATF Standards to the New York State Society of CPAs, and is invited to make presentations on terrorist financing and money laundering issues by other organizations. His academic work has also been published in the Journal of Homeland Security, and George Mason's Critical Infrastructure Protection Report. Dr. Kumar spent a number of years advising the Al-Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Regimes at the United Nations on assets freeze and terrorist financing issues. Dr. Kumar earned a Doctorate in Public Administration from American University in Washington D.C; a Masters in Philosophy in American Studies from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; and a Masters in International Business from the University of Delhi.
