According Huntington, the magazine's reputation as a force in the industry is a natural match for The Outdoor Channel.
"Handgunner has established itself as the single best source for all that's handgunning," Huntington said. "Handgunner's tell-it-like-it-is attitude has always meant you can take what you read in its pages to the bank. Period."
The program will include competition, custom handguns, factory tours, interviews with industry-insiders, hunting and tactics, pistolsmithing tips and "what's new." According to the magazine's publisher, "American Handgunner TV" will bring the best of American Handgunner to The Outdoor Channel.
"To get an idea of what we're doing here, imagine a page of American Handgunner magazine coming to life," said Tom von Rosen, publisher of American Handgunner, GUNS and Shooting Industry magazines. "All the excitement, history and personality that lives on the pages of American Handgunner will come into your living room courtesy of the Outdoor Channel."
Given the 27-year reputation of the magazine, viewers can expect the unexpected when "American Handgunner TV" brightens televisions across the nation.
"We'll keep the pace fast and make sure American Handgunner comes across on television just like it does on the glossy page -- but louder!" Huntington said.
