American Communications Services, Inc. (ACSI), Changes Name, Corporate Identity, and Nasdaq Ticker Symbol

ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- e.spire(TM) Communications, Inc., a leading provider of integrated communications solutions, including local dial tone, long distance, dedicated access, advanced data, Internet and networking solutions formerly known as ACSI (American Communications Services, Inc.), announced yesterday that the company's new Nasdaq ticker symbol for its common stock will be ESPI.

This symbol, which replaces ACNS, will be effective Wednesday, April 15, 1998. The stock will continue to be traded on Nasdaq.
