American Capital Agency Corp's (Nasdaq:AGNC) board of directors approved a common stock cash dividend of USD0.20 per share for March 2016, the company revealed on Thursday.

With an ex-dividend date of 29 March 2016, the dividend to stockholders of record as of 31 March 2016 will be paid on 8 April 2016.

Additionally, the company said that its estimated common stock net book value was USD21.73 per share as of 29 February 2016. This is the value per common share of the company's total estimated stockholders' equity after deducting the common stock dividend paid out on 8 March 2016, less the preferred stock liquidation preference, divided by the number of outstanding common shares at month end. This value is unaudited and has not been verified or reviewed by any third party.

Also, the company's current net book value may also be materially different from its estimated net book value as of 29 February 2016, besides, it said it is not obligated to update or revise this value.

A real estate investment trust, the company is externally managed and advised by American Capital AGNC Management LLC, an affiliate of American Capital Ltd (Nasdaq:ACAS). American Capital is a private equity firm and global asset manager that manages USD21bn of assets, including those under management by affiliated managers, with total assets under management (including levered assets) of USD73bn. Together with its affiliates, it operates out of seven offices in the US and Europe.
