The board of directors of American Capital Agency Corp (Nasdaq:AGNC) approved a common stock cash dividend of USD0.20 per share for June 2016, the company disclosed on Monday.

Stockholders of record as of 30 June 2016 will receive the dividend payment on 8 July 2016. The ex-dividend date is 28 June 2016.

Additionally, the company stated that its estimated net book value of common stock as of 31 May 2016, is USD22.36 per share. This value is its total estimated stockholders' equity after the common stock dividend paid on 9 June 2016, less the preferred stock liquidation preference and divided by the total outstanding common shares at month end.

Further, this estimated net book value is not audited, verified or reviewed by any third party and therefore, the current net book value may be materially different from its estimated net book value as of 31 May 2016, the company said. Also, it undertakes no obligation to update or revise this value.

A real estate investment trust, American Capital Agency invests in agency pass-through securities and collateralised mortgage obligations mainly, for which the principal and interest payments are guaranteed by a US Government agency or a government-sponsored entity. It is externally managed and advised by American Capital AGNC Management LLC, an affiliate of American Capital Ltd.
