American Bailey buys foundry unit from Textron.

American Bailey Corp has bought the Golden Operations of the CWC Castings Div of Textron, Inc.

The acquisition was made by Golden Casting Corp, a newly formed affiliate of American Bailey.

Golden, a gray iron foundry in Columbus, IN, produces heavy-duty diesel block castings. Most of its products are blocks and cylinder heads sold to manufacturers of Class 8 truck diesel engines.

The foundry, which employs about 550 people, had 1989 revenues of $46 million.

American Bailey is a privately held corporation organized to acquire and develop businesses.
