AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

American Airlines has launched an interline electronic ticketing agreement with its oneworld alliance partners Qantas Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways.

Under the agreement, customers can use a single electronic ticket when their itineraries include travel on two or more of the carriers. Previously, customers were required to obtain a paper ticket before transferring from one airline to another.

Interline electronic ticketing is expected to be available between all of the oneworld alliance partners by the end of 2004.
