America On the Move.
America On The Move (AOM) is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to improve health and quality of life by promoting healthful eating and active living among individuals, families, communities and society. One of their goals is to empower people to take control of their health by making and sustaining small measurable changes to their diet and exercise routines.
To achieve this goal, AOM provides free online programs, tools, and resources.
Tools include: My Daily Menu Planner, which helps you to manage daily food choices and learn easy ways to cut calories by making smarter choices; My Tool Box, which helps you set goals, calculate your target weight, or download tip sheets, step conversion charts, logging forms and more; My Challenge Buddies, where you can share progress, encourage friends and get encouragement from them, as well.
One of the most fun online tools is My Challenge Log, which lets you log physical activity by steps or minutes and view progress instantly each day.
You can choose from several virtual trails to meet your walking goals. Virtual trails include the Iditarod in Alaska, China's Silk Road, The Oregon Trail and the UK Trail.
Wouldn't it be fun to have your faith community "walk" one of these trails together?
