Amendments limiting number of foreign workers in one business entity pass the third reading at Parliament.

The draft amendments increasing the size of state duties on the issuance of work permits in Kyrgyzstan passed the third reading in the Parliament on February 1.

The size of state duties is proposed to be increased from 2,000 to 10,000 som.

The bill also proposes limiting the number of foreign workers in one business entity to 20% of the total number of employees.

The foreign workers are categorized as:

- Highly qualified foreign specialists receive a work permit for up to 3 years at the request of the employer outside the state work permits;

- Foreign specialists receive a work permit for up to 1 year at the request of the employer within the state work permit, while their number should not exceed 20% of the total number of employees in one economic entity;

- Foreign unskilled workers receive a work permit for up to 1 year at the request of the employer within the state work permit, and their number should not exceed 10% of the total number of employees in one economic entity;

- Foreign individual entrepreneurs receive a work permit for up to 1 year at their own application within the state work permits based on the patent issued by the tax authority of the Kyrgyz Republic.
