Amdocs Introduces 'Amdocs ExTra' - A Unique Business Process Framework to Facilitate Service Providers' Transformation.

The framework combines standards-based business process best practices, expanded partnerships, comprehensive portfolio of integrated products and services, and a Customer Involvement program

BERLIN, May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amdocs , the leading provider of customer experience systems, today launched Amdocs ExTra (EXperience-driven TRAnsformation), a business process framework for the customer experience-driven transformation of service providers. Amdocs ExTra combines the company's standards-based technology, consulting and implementation services and business process management (BPM) best practices. Coupled with Amdocs' deep industry expertise and experience with large-scale transformation projects, Amdocs ExTra is already enabling service providers to transform their businesses to deliver an integrated, innovative and intentional customer experience. The Customer Involvement Program will allow Amdocs to continue to evolve the framework and lead the definition of industry standards. The announcement was made today at InTouch, Amdocs' annual leadership forum.

Amdocs BPM Best Practices

The cornerstone of Amdocs ExTra is Amdocs Scenario Optimization Modeling (ASOM), a set of tools and methodologies which captures and promotes Amdocs' best practices in converging telecoms, broadband cable and satellite industries. A dynamic, continuously perfected collection of BPM best practices, ASOM is enriched and updated with each new implementation, even as it allows service providers to apply the most current best practices to their operations.

Amdocs has been applying a business process approach to its product development and project delivery efforts, and as a result has built an unparalleled repository of practical industry business process expertise, which now includes a comprehensive and growing knowledge base of more than a dozen macro-business scenarios and over 100 more granular business process flows.

Greatly enriched over the past several years by the experience gained from some of the most groundbreaking transformation projects in the industry, ASOM applies BPM principles and emerging industry standards, such as TeleManagement Forum's Enhanced Telecom Operations Map (eTOM), Shared Information/Data Model (SID) and others, to all Amdocs products, and consulting and implementation services, shortening time-to-solution, improving quality and reducing transformation risk for Amdocs customers. With this unmatched, comprehensive and practical intellectual property, Amdocs is now ready to roll out ASOM broadly as part of the Amdocs ExTra Framework.

Amdocs Customer Experience Systems and Partnerships

Amdocs' portfolio of customer experience systems is another component of the new framework. Amdocs has built a modular suite of integrated products that include open interfaces and are based on Amdocs BPM best practices. Amdocs products recognize the synergy between BPM and service-oriented architecture (SOA) and help service providers move toward a SOA environment with minimal risk. Increasingly, a critical component of Amdocs product roadmap is verification for key ASOM scenarios. As a result, Amdocs delivers a lower cost and lower risk solution for transformation. Amdocs also extends its BPM best practices to non-Amdocs applications - both legacy and third party applications, further strengthening Amdocs' integration leadership in the market.

Amdocs has also expanded alliances with IDS Scheer and Cognos to further integrate leading BPM-enabling tools into its products. With IDS Scheer, a long-term Amdocs partner for ASOM, Amdocs will integrate the IDS Scheer ARIS tool for BPM into its customer engagements and product development activities. Amdocs will also leverage the Cognos Now! Operational Business Intelligence product to add business activity monitoring (BAM) capabilities to round out its BPM offering, which includes Amdocs Process Manager and other Amdocs Foundation products that are part of the new Amdocs 7 suite.

Amdocs Consulting and Implementation Services

Amdocs ExTra also includes unique consulting and implementation services which leverage the company's unparalleled transformation experience. Amdocs has helped a number of leading service providers around the world define their business requirements and implement best practices as they undergo strategic transformation initiatives. Amdocs Customer Involvement Program

Amdocs ExTra's Customer Involvement Program will form an extension of Amdocs' Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Technology Advisory Board, which collectively include more than 500 members, representing approximately 150 service providers and impacting more than 1.3 billion customer experiences per day around the world. The program will allow Amdocs to continue its contributions to the development and definition of industry standards and to evolve the framework.
