Amdahl's InfraCare Services Gain Sun's SunTone Integrator Services Certification.
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 2001
InfraCare(TM) services combine experience, innovation and
proven methodologies to allow enterprises to focus critical
resources on their core business.
Amdahl today announced SunTone(SM) certification as an Integrator for delivery of InfraCare(TM) services in North America and Europe.
Amdahl offers IT infrastructure project and managed services under the InfraCare brand. InfraCare services support both international and national customers throughout the life cycle of a project from design, to build, to deployment, to operation, and into maintenance through a single management contact.
The SunTone program identifies to customers those Integrator services that have met the stringent requirements of SunTone certification to help ensure that WEB-enabled services they provide meet the program's high standard of quality service delivery. Amdahl plans to certify additional InfraCare services, including architecture engineering and management, which will go through the SunTone Integrator Services Certification process within the next few months.
"Amdahl's achievement of SunTone certification demonstrates their commitment to deliver high quality Sun integrated solutions on an international scale," said Joe Womack, vice president, America's Partner Sales, Sun Microsystems. "SunTone certification is a significant milestone between Sun and Amdahl. Amdahl has implemented a large number of Sun Enterprise(TM) 10000 solutions in data center and mainframe environments under Amdahl's InfraCare brand."
By working together, Sun and Amdahl have reduced costs and improved operations for customers through: re-hosting mainframe applications to Sun Solaris(TM) operating environment; implementing server and application consolidation; new storage architectures (SAN, NAS, and host attached) and heterogeneous environment support, including architecture, implementation, management, and support services for System/390(R), Sun's Solaris operating environment, and NT(R).
"InfraCare services and Amdahl's Adaptive Integration(TM) methodology offer customers a single point of contact and ensure accountability for delivery of IT service globally and across data center, distributed, and network environments," said Larry Fillmer, president, Amdahl IT Services. "We're extremely pleased to have our InfraCare customised client services validated for high quality through SunTone certification."
