Amble up for fun at Tour of Britain.

VISITORS to Wrexham are being invited to take part in a 'Dandy Amble' as part of Tour of Britain celebrations.

The UK's largest cycle race, featuring some of the sport's greatest stars, will complete the final leg of day one in the town centre on September 6. Council chiefs have asked visitors to dress up in their best tweed or glad rags, get on a bike and join in the Aviva tour's festivities.

The Amble will take place on the final straight of the actual race at 11.20 am and there are already some cycles from yesteryear lined up from Mr Phoebus Penny Farthing Events who will be joining in on the day.

Wrexham council's Lead Member for Economic Development and Regeneration Neil Rogers, said: "The Dandy Amble is an opportunity for visitors to the town centre to get involved and enjoy what promises to be a very exciting event."
