Amazing new face of chimp victim.

A MUM who had a face transplant after being savaged by a chimpanzee shows off her new looks yesterday.

Charla Nash, 57, still too weak to leave hospital, allowed America's Today TV programme to film her transformation.

She never stood a chance when the ape savaged her in 2009. It sliced off her hands, mouth and nose, leaving her blind. But now the results of her May 2011 op are clear, with her nose, lips and face restored. Charla, from Connecticut, said: "I'm getting stronger." Her daughter Brianna added: "I'm so thankful."
