Amadeus signs deal with travel firms.
Amadeus has entered into a strategic partnership with Association of Bahrain Travel and Tour Agents (ABTTA).
'The three-year agreement, signed at the Gulf Hotel, is a step forward in enabling local travel agencies remain competitive and offer best-in-class services to business and leisure travellers in Bahrain,' said ABTTA chairman Sofyan AlMoaayad.
He said ABTTA, which comprises of the leading Bahrain-based travel agencies, is responsible for developing and promoting travel and tourism opportunities in Bahrain.
'The association also plays a key role in training Bahrainis to work in the travel and tourism sector and collaborate with the government and local travel and tourism bodies to further this objective.'
He said Bahrain is poised for new growth and expansion in the travel and tourism arena.
'As the governing body overseeing the interest and growth of the local travel agencies in Bahrain, we understand that technology plays a crucial role in business sustainability and longevity.'
He said Amadeus was chosen for its ability to provide distinguished solutions and services to the travel agencies in Bahrain.
'As one of the leading global distribution system (GDS) providers and the biggest processor of travel bookings worldwide, Amadeus solutions support a broad network of travel providers and users.'
ABTTA's secretary to the board Hakim Al Aradi said Amadeus has a proven track record in the region and has established itself as a preferred technology partner for the regional travel industry.
'Through this partnership we are confident of supporting Bahrain travel agencies to benefit from a faster, more efficient and reliable booking system, which translates to increased business opportunities and higher return for the travel agents.'
He said by partnering with Amadeus, ABTTA members will now have easy access to new travel technologies to streamline business operations, boost productivity and offer customised solutions and services from a single source.
'Amadeus solutions will allow the travel agents to access most relevant content from leading airlines, low cost carriers, hotels, car rental companies and others with the best faring possible.
