AmEx opens retail locale at 1185 Ave. of Americas.

American Express Travel Related Services has opened a retail location at 1185 Avenue of the Americas (Stevens Tower), reports Donald B. Kaplan, executive vice president of W&M Properties, Inc., the leasing and managing agent of the building.

The new office set to open this week will provide full retail travel and financial services, including vacation packages, as well as check cashing and travelers checks for American Express Cardholders.

The long-term lease calls for an aggregate rental of $2.5 million.

The broker for the owner is W&M Properties. The broker for the tenant is Michael T. Cohen, president of Williams Real Estate Company.

Located between 46th and 47th Streets, 1185 Avenue of the Americas contains 1.1 million square feet and enjoys a superb location with an inbuilding Rockefeller Center subway concourse entrance, prestigioustenants, solid ownership and the distinguished neighborhood of Rockefeller Center.
