Always your children.

Thank you for your article ("Mom, Dad, I'm gay," August) by Kathy Saunders. Catholic parents need information when a son or daughter announces they are gay or lesbian. Catholic parents and youth need to know the message of the church is "always our children."

They need to know that there are gay-friendly parishes and dioceses, and that they certainly can be gay and Catholic. Parents particularly need to know that Jesus does not want them to disown or mistreat their gay children.

Getting the stories of families with gay and lesbian children out there is a great service to all of us. Keep up the good work.
