ALVIN LVIN LV Stardust was given a send-off by his three wives - and a convoy of bikers at his funeral yesterday.

The glove-wearing's rock legend's widow Julie, 45, was hugged by his exes - first wife, dancer Iris Fenton, 68, and second wife, actress Lisa Goddard, 64, at his funeral.

Iris revealed she dumped ex-Beatle Paul McCartney to go out with Alvin. She added: "We had a fabulous marriage and kept close afterwards.

"It shows what sort of man he was to have all three wives here. Everybody loved him."

Alvin, whose hits included My Coo Ca Choo and Jealous Mind, died of prostate cancer at 72.

His eldest son Shaun, who is a headmaster, paid tribute to his dad at the service. He said: "He was my hero and always will be."

The hearse of the 1970s glam rocker was escorted to St Thomas's Church in Swansea by 30 bikers after dad-of-five Alvin's daughter Sophie asked for Harley Davidson riders to attend.

His coffin was taken into the church accompanied by his favourite song - When You Wish Upon A Star from Disney's Pinnochio. AN ALL ROUND LEGEND: PAGE P S 24-25 FUNERAL Alvin Stardust
