Altair Acquires German Software Tools Developer AWE Communications.
12 April 2016 - US-based simulation technology developer Altair has acquired Gartringen, Germany-based software tools developer AWE Communications GmbH, the company said.
As part of the Altair acquisition, AWE relocated into the Altair Engineering GmbH offices in BA[pilcrow sign]blingen, Germany.
AWE was founded in 1998 as a spin-off from the University of Stuttgartand the main focus has been the development of the WinProp Software Suite for wave propagation and radio network planning.
Altair is focused on the development and broad application of simulation technology to synthesize and optimize designs, processes and decisions for improved business performance.
Privately held with more than 2,000 employees, Altair is headquartered in Troy, Michigan, USA and operates more than 45 offices throughout 22 countries.
Currently, Altair serves more than 5,000 corporate clients across broad industry segments.
