Customer demand for quick and productive DOS databases remains strong

Alpha Software Inc., a veteran database developer with a tradition of empowering users, today announced the release of Alpha Four Version 7, the latest incarnation of its award winning DOS database program.

With the introduction of Version 7, Alpha Software continues to build on the legacy of its Alpha Four brand. Users familiar with Alpha's development philosophy will recognize the program's logical and intuitive menu structure, along with its extensive help system.

In addition to the robust features found in previous versions of Alpha Four (including fully relational sets, an applications generator to guide users through the creation of custom applications, power scripts, full network-ready architecture with automatic file and record locking, a WYSIWYG report writer, an extensive array of field rules and lookups for speedier and more accurate data entry, mail merge capabilities with form letters and mailing labels and field statistics), Version 7 has improvements in overall performance and will work with the latest operating systems from Microsoft, including Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Alpha Four Version 7 also gives users the option of using Windows printer drivers, resulting in major improvements in ease-of-printing.

"We are very excited to be able to offer this new version of Alpha Four. Our users have been asking for these new features, and we are happy to continue to support them with Version 7," stated Richard Rabins, co-chairman, Alpha Software. "Alpha has been in the database business for almost 20 years, and both the industry and our company have gone through many changes. One thing that hasn't changed though, is our commitment to our product and our customers. When we developed Alpha Four, our goal was to provide users with a full-featured database that that was easy to use. With Version 7, we have stayed true to that goal, while delivering a high quality and innovative product that delivers 'real world' information management solutions."
