Along the road to self-destruction; YOUNG ADULT 15.
After their success with Oscar winner Juno, writer Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman team up for another flick through the belly button fluff of middle America.Charlize Theron - with what might be a career best performance - is Mavis Gary, the movie's anti-heroine, an unhappy alky writing teen fiction.
With her life in a mess she embarks on a crazy scheme to win back her high school sweetheart.
After waking from a full-on bevy session Mavis decides to head home and woo her ex-boyfriend (Patrick Stewart), even though she knows her success will end his marriage.
Mavis is blissfully unaware of the issues facing other folk but hasn't the foggiest notion that she's heading towards self-destruction.
Theron is immaculate and Mavis is surely one of the most screwed-up characters we've seen.
