Byline: ALISON DUCK

A COVENTRY family feared missing in India following the earthquake are safe and well.

Kamini and Manubhai Shah were relieved to discover yesterday that the 12-strong party from Foleshill had escaped the tragedy.

Mrs Shah, from Foleshill, said the party, which included her parents Mohanbhai and Bhanuben Jagatia and her brother and sister, said: "Luckily they had left the area a few days before the earthquake struck.

"They were a few hundred miles away but they still felt the tremor. They said the buildings shook but where they were was not damaged.

"They were unable to get in touch with us before because the wires had come down. I am very happy and relieved, but I feel sorry for all the others," Mrs Shah said.
