The ceremony is being held in connection with the birthday anniversary of SMIU's illustrious student and founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Also, it is a part of Pakistan's 70 years' celebrations.
In this regard a meeting with senior management was chaired by Vice Chancellor SMIU Dr Mohammad Ali Shaikh, wherein arrangements were reviewed and finalized.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Shaikh said that it was their proud privilege to state that the Government of Pakistan had approved first phase of development of SMIU Campus at Education City, Malir, Karachi, with the capital cost of Rs 1.57 billion. 'As suggested by the CDWP, with Senator Sartaj Aziz in Chair, the foundation-stone of the campus is to be laid on Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's birthday, 25th December 2017, at the site of new campus as a part of Pakistan's 70 years' celebrations,' Dr Shaikh maintained.
