All set for Qalandar's Urs.
Not only people from all over Pakistan, but devotees from India, Saudi Arabia, USA and other countries attend this event.
Qalandar - a great mystic, philosopher, poet, philologist and saint - is a popular saint respected among the people of all faiths besides Muslims such as Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and others. As the great saint was fond of the colour red - the reason for the word Lal (red) in his name - most of the visitors at the Urs and mela wear red coloured clothes or bands on their wrist or neck.
Talking to Daily Times, Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Palijo said her department has completed the arrangements for the mela.
"Due to security concerns following the recent terror attack at the Data Darbar in Lahore, we have made special arrangements and 3,000 security personnel would be deployed for the mela," she said.
She said every year several people drown while swimming in the Ariyal Wah (canal), so her department has taken steps to avert such incidents.
