All is Ruins; Garage rock.

Byline: Victor D. Infante

Classic Ruins plays a down and dirty and slightly drunken brand of garage rock. In "LaBatts," the band tells the tale of ... a guy who drinks the beer LaBatts. In "Room Starts Spinning," they share the tale of an alcohol-fueled (Becks, particularly) hookup. And in "Nyquil Stinger" they sing of "the nastiest drink in town/ you're a wizard if you can hold one down." Is it wrong to find this all a heck of a lot of fun? There's no pretension here, and the stripped-down rock sound propelling it all makes even an excessive sort of musical tipsiness forgivable. Classic Ruins performs with The Lyres and Tsunami of Sound at 9 p.m. April 19 at Ralph's Chadwick Square Diner, 148 Grove St., Worcester.
