Formed by light and water meeting in the sky, rainbows, like this one seen in Rhos on Sea, are actually full circles, but are rarely seen as such - except from planes Sir Isaac Newton discovered the seven distinct colours of the rainbow, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet

The myth a pot of gold lies at the rainbow's end originates from eastern Europe - some say angels put their gold there, but only a nude man can obtain the prize!

Some cultures see the rainbow as the gateway between heaven and earth or a bridge between the living and the dead
