All Pakistan Christian League launched with vivid manifesto.

ISLAMABAD, July 22, 2011 (Frontier Star): All Pakistan Christian League (APCL), a political party, was formally launched on Thursday with a clear manifesto for a strong and democratic Pakistan. The announcement to launch this party was formally made by its Chairman Professor Salamat Akhtar in the presence of hundreds of cheering supporters here at National Press Club, says a press statement. Besides determination to protect the rights of Christian Community and struggling for their proper representation in federal and provincial services. Briefing the media about the manifesto of the party, Professor Salamat Akhtar said best way to cope with problems confronting Christian community is to introduce a party which can represent them in a befitting manner. He said All Pakistan Christian League will be the first representative party in Pakistan purely of Christians since 1972. Organization of the party is underway all four provinces as well as abroad in US, Germany and Denmark. Professor Salamat said Nazim Sajjad has been nominated as President APCL Islamabad Region, Zeeshan Joseph as President APCL Punjab, James Allah Dita as President APCL Rawalpindi while Huber George as President APCL US, Ch. Yusuf Akhtar as President APCL Germany. He said manifesto of APCL is aimed at contributing to the stability and solidarity of Pakistan, making it a country as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam where there is equality for every segment of society. It has also the agenda of unity of Christian community, all round development of Christian people, education to all, repeal of discriminatory laws from constitution of Pakistan, integrity of women especially Christian women, training and welfare of Christian youth and youth leadership, democracy and right of double vote for non-Muslims of Pakistan, prosperity of Christian farmers, welfare of Christian labour, shelter to shelterless Christian, cooperation with lovers of Pakistan, accurate census of Christians community and one fourth share in federal as well as provincial services. Professor Salamat said dynamic people would be given important assignments who could take up issues in an organized manner and work with devotion for protecting rights of Christian community. He said that his party will take active participation in next upcoming general elections after fulfilling all legal formalities. He hoped APCL will achieve success due to its young and dynamic leadership. He appeared resolute to deal strongly with internal and external threats with unity and continue efforts till elimination of this scourge. Professor Salamat said his party believes in freedom of media and will support it. Founder of the party and Co-Chairman Nawaz Salamat and other office bearers were also present on the occasion.
