lJeremy Glover's loss is Jonjo O'Neill's gain at Doncaster. Glover injures his back when Master Bivouac (Stan Mellor) falls in the two-and-a-half-mile chase, and O'Neill replaces him on Pacify (Mellor), who takes the staying chase from Tremendous (Brian Platts/Ron Barry).

lO'Neill also strikes on Sun Lion (Gordon Richards) in the novice hurdle, beating Only A Monkey (Lady Herries/Paddy Broderick). O'Neill is now back on top of the jockeys' table with 47 winners.

lJohn Williams has his first success for seven weeks when Lucky Victory, one of four horses owned and trained by John Baker, takes the three-mile chase at Taunton from Mr Wrekin (Roy Whiston/David Cartwright). The Welsh Grand National is the target for the winner.

lAndrew Waring has his first success as a professional when 25-1 Castell Memories, trained by his mother Barbara, wins the opportunity hurdle.
