All India Camel Colour Contest announces National winners.

Tamil Nadu, Feb. 4 -- The contest began in August 2013 andgarnered overwhelming response amongst the schools- Students fraternity. There were a total of 41,10626 participants from 4,631 schools, who participated from across the country .

The contest began at the school level, then the regional level and finally it culminated at the national level. Winners were adjudged across five categories Group A (Pre Primary), Group B (Class 1 and 2), Group C (Class 3and 4), Group D (Class 5, 6 and 7) and Group E (Class 8, 9, 10) .

There were Five First Prize winners across each category - -

Mayank Gupta from Delhi Public School , Kolkatta

Aryan Pawar from Sharadashram Vidya Mandir English ,Mumbai

Zaman Merchant from Jasudben M.L School, Mumbai

Manyuvraj Singh Sandhu from D.A.V Public School, Punjab

S.Vaishnavi from Jai Gopal Garodiya School , Chennai

AICCC has a tradition that the Jury select a best entry out of all the first prize winners at the National level. A couple of years back ,on the request of jury the award was doubled and now we have two best entry winners, one out of junior (groups A, B & C) and one out of Senior (group D & E). This year the award has gone as follows;

We have been felicitating the schools with best performance at the regional and national levels. We have developed a system of giving weightage to each award from first to appreciation, and the school adding highest total gets the trophy at the respective level. Besides the First five Prize winners there were second, third and appreciation prize winners across the five categories.

Kokuyo Camlin for the first time used the social media platform to create a new category of Awards called the 'Popular Choice Awards'. What it did was - showcase the 107 National award winning paintings on its website. Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter were used to conduct an audience poll. Of these 107 paintings - Five were adjudged for the 'Popular Choice Awards'.

Speaking on the same Mr. A. Srikanth, CEO - Kokuyo Camlin Limited, said, "We congratulate the winners from all over India. All though it has been four decades now, All India Camel Color Contest initiative is still very much close to our heart. We are immensely happy to have had such a great response from all over India for this contest. "This is a small beginning to motivate the schools to display children's paintings as display of painting is more motivating for a child than any prize," added Mr. Srikanth, who is confident that the schools would give more importance of art experiences and support these activities.

Chief Marketing Officer, Kokuyo Camlin Limited, Mr. Saumitra Prasad said, "We are extremely thrilled with the overwhelming response the AICCC contest received from school teachers, parents, school faculties and the kids all across the country. This year, we also had underprivileged children participating in this Annual event. A first for AICCC, also for the first time in the AICCC history we used the social media platform to get audience participate in a poll to select the Popular Choice Awards from over 107 paintings on our website. We were flooded with responses from the audience and it has been truly a great experience online. We plan to replicate other events and activities online in the future."

All India Camel Colour Contest - the world's largest art activity for school children has been running successfully since last four decades, this highly awaited annual painting contest for Indian school students is held to promote art and art awareness among students. This contest has become a household name due to its innovative design and passionate execution. It has created a history by establishing the Guinness World Records for the largest activity in 2011 with a participation of 4.85 million participants from 6600+ schools. The participation in the All India Camel Colour Contest has touched the magical figure of 5 million in 2012.
