All Bankers NAB Conference To Join Hands In Fighting Menace Of Corruption / Financial Institutions.

PESHAWAR, June 17, 2010 (Frontier Star): NAB (KPk) organized a conference to enhance coordination between the NAB and Banks / Financial Institutions to fight against the corruption. The Agenda of the Conference was to redress the problems faced by NAB and Banks/ Financial Institutions, while calling information Under Section 19 and 27 of NAO 1999. The Conference was started with the Recitation of the Holy Quran. The Conference was attended by the Mr. Tasleem Qazi, Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan, Peshawar and the Regional Chiefs / Representatives of all the Banks / Financial Institutions of the Province. Brig (R) Muhammad Musaddiq Abbasi, DG NAB (KPk) addressed to the Conference and described corruption as a moral failure and said anything which disturbs, disrupts, destroys moral order in life is corruption. He further said, "Financial Corruption and Intellectual Corruption are modes of human behaviour through which society is corrupted. He appreciated the role of Bankers for cooperation with NAB for providing smooth & efficient information and for their role for eradicating White Colour Crimes from the Society. Mr. Gohar Ali Shah, Director FCIW NAB (KPk) conducted the proceedings covering the agenda points mainly focused on NAB - Bankers cooperation. All the Senior Bankers gave their valuable suggestions and show their determination to be a part of the Jihad against corruption and gave full commitment to support NAB during Inquiries / Investigations of the case. Conference was concluded with the understanding that such meetings between NAB & Banks / Financial Institutions will continue for further coordination & cooperation so as to eliminate financial corruption from the society effectively. Decisions made included provisioning of information through focal officers, access to banking channel for speedy information, training of focal officer by NAB for standardization and undertaking of training events jointly related to money laundering.
