Alight, Inc. Announces New On-Line Destination for Full-Figured Women; Company provides comprehensive Web site for plus-sized women through commerce, content and community.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2000

With the mission to empower and enrich the lives of full-figured women, alight, inc. today announced its formation with a $1.5 million dollar investment from RRE, a national venture capital firm based in New York.

The Web site,, to be launched in the first quarter of 2000, will deliver a combination of content, community and commerce in one user-friendly, centralized location.

This growing segment of consumers, which currently numbers approximately 52 million (19% of the total U.S. population), represented $24 billion of the $86 billion of U.S. women's apparel spending in 1998, according to a recent NPD Group study.'s experienced team of Internet, marketing and fashion experts hail from such companies as, EDS, Lane Bryant, Liz Claiborne/Elisabeth, Microsoft, QPass, and Reuters. Jon Langbert, President and Chief Operating Officer:

Langbert has six years of business start-up experience. His last position was President and Chief Operating Officer of Win-Stuff, Inc., a national operator of amusement equipment, which he co-founded in early 1998. Win-Stuff grew to $80 million in revenues and 450 employees in less than one year.

Langbert was also President of Tim's Amusements, a venture-backed company that made 15 acquisitions over two years, growing to $50 million in sales. He holds a B.B.A. in Finance with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Langbert is also a Certified Management Accountant.

Susan Sommers, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief

A content specialist, Sommers has a broad-based editorial background in print media, Internet ventures, and startups. Sommers has contributed to such on-line destinations as and Sommers' background includes senior editorial positions at the trade publications Accessories and American Salon, as well as work for various consumer magazines including Conde Nast and Hearst. She is the author of French Chic and Italian Chic, published by a division of Random House. Sommers holds a B.A. from George Washington University.

Margaret Luh, Executive Vice President, Business Development:

Luh has seven years of business development, financial and strategic marketing experience. Prior to joining, Luh was the Director of Business Planning for Reuters Trading Systems, where she was responsible for evaluating and executing strategic alliances and acquisitions of new businesses. Previously, Luh worked as an Investment Banking Associate in the Merchandising group at Lehman Brothers. Luh also was an Account Executive at Wells Rich Greene BDDP. Luh holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and received her M.B.A. from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Matthew Siegel, Chief Technical Officer:

Siegel brings five years of experience managing the development of Internet products. Prior to joining, he designed and implemented's data center. Siegel was also a Test Manager at Microsoft where he directed the development of Merchant Server, Microsoft's E-Commerce application. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Math from the University of California, Davis. Siegel also holds a patent for his work on software testing technology.
