Alice at the double with silver showing.

WALSALL judoka Alice Schlesinger is returning from the European Games in Minsk with two silver medals.

She fought her way to the final of the women's under-63kg competition before coming up just short of gold against three-time world champion Clarisse Agbegnenou in the final - the event doubling up as the European Judo Championships as well.

"I'm feeling good," said the 31-year-old, who switched allegiance from Israel in 2014. "It was a good day for me overall.

"There are a few things I need to improve for the next tournament, but overall it was a good day."

On the European Games experience more broadly, she added: "It's been amazing, everything about it, all the people, all the team supporting you. If you need anything, everyone's there to make you feel as comfortable as possible."

Darlaston's Ben Whittaker progressed to the quarter-finals of the light heavyweight boxing.
