Alias/Wavefront Ships Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition; Includes English, Japanese and Korean Learning Tools.
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 2002
Full, Non-Commercial Access to Professional Industrial Design
Software Debuts At 3December
Alias/Wavefront(TM), an SGI (NYSE: SGI) company, announced today that Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition(TM) is now available for purchase directly from the company's online store at www.aliaswavefront/studiople.
The new learning tool also debuts at 3December(TM), a celebration of the 3D graphics industry hosted by Alias/Wavefront, which occurs today in seven cities across the globe.
The comprehensive combination of software and focused learning tools brings universal access to computer-aided industrial design (CAID) for students, digital design novices and industrial design professionals. For the first time, in addition to English, editions with learning tools in Japanese and Korean are available.
"We invite people to explore the world of CAID by using the exact same StudioTools(TM) software that is used across the globe by companies such as AT&T, General Motors and Kodak," says Thomas Heermann, Product Manager at Alias/Wavefront.
Full Access, Non-Commercial Use
Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition provides anyone with the desire to learn more about industrial design, or 3D computer graphics in general, a seat of the highly rated Alias(R) Studio(TM) software. The Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition includes all the new features found in StudioTools 10 so individuals can experience the full power of the software. This includes access to top quality 2D sketching technology, sophisticated NURBS curve and surface modeling tools, and superior photorealistic rendering tools -- all combined in one integrated workflow.
A special set of learning tools, provided in English, Japanese and Korean, are designed to make start up and full exploration of the software a quick, easy and rewarding experience. Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition is available as a single CD for a nominal fee of US $10.00, plus shipping and handling.
Users are restricted to non-commercial applications through the display of a watermark on images and through a special non-commercial file format that allows import of native Studio data and IGES, VDA and DXF(TM) files.

A Web-based resource center has been created for those using Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition. This center, located at www.aliaswavefront.com/studiople, will provide free access to learning aids, discussion forums, downloads of free sample files, and galleries in which Alias Studio Personal Learning Edition users may exhibit their projects.
