Alias/Wavefront Releases StudioTools for HP-UX Platform; Industrial Design Software Now Shipping.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2001

Alias/Wavefront(TM), an SGI (NYSE:SGI) company, announced today that it has released a version of its 3D computer-aided industrial design (CAID) software family, StudioTools(TM), made specifically for the Hewlett-Packard(R) HP-UX(R) operating system.

StudioTools products, including DesignStudio(TM), Studio(TM), AutoStudio(TM) and SurfaceStudio(TM), are now shipping for HP-UX 11 running on HP Visualize(R) workstations.

The new release marks another step in an ongoing Alias/Wavefront expansion program that has already added Sun(TM) Solaris(R), Windows NT(R) and Windows(R) 2000 to the company's long standing operating system base of SGI(TM) Irix(R). The purpose of the program is to make StudioTools software available to a broader range of industrial designers around the world.

Pairing Offers More to CAID Designer
