Alex in Blair TV challenge.

NATS leader Alex Salmond yesterday demanded a head-to-head debate with Tony Blair on Scotland's future.

Blair had dismissed the SNP, saying their only policy was independence - and the public would never vote for them if they thought it was possible.

But Salmond hit back: "If he is so keen for a head-to-head debate on Scotland's future, I am more than happy to have one.

"Then people can see why the SNP is the only party putting the interests of Scotland first."
