MADONNA - REBEL HEART, right MADONNA is the original rebel in music.

Now 56, the Queen of Pop shows no sign of calming down and mellowing as she releases her 13th studio album, the aptly titl- REBEL Heart.

The singer describes her latest LP as showing the two distinct sides of her personality -the renegade and the romantic - and this is clear from the outset. Joan Of Arc, Ghosttown, Body Shop and closing track Wash All Over Me are more delicate tunes, while her feisty side comes out on Unapologetic B***h, Devil Pray, B***h I'm Madonna (featuring Nicki Minaj) and Iconic (featuring rapper Chance and Mike Tyson).

"I'm gonna carry on," she sings on the album's opening song and lead single, Living For Love, and it's clear to see that with Rebel Heart, dear Madge won't be giving up her pop throne any time soon.

HEEMS -EAT, PRAY, THUG THE debut solo album from former rapper with alternative hipHoppers Das Racist, Himanshu Kumar Suri (aka Heems), is a smart and gritty examination of the divided sense of self of a first generation South Asian living in New York City.

On Sometimes, Heems describes his disaffected status in "his adopted country: "Some say I'm too black, some say I'm too white", but he's aware enough to recognise such dichotomies of belief "in himself: "Sometimes I'm pacifist, sometimes I'm pass the fist".

His self-awareness is not the selfobsession of a Kanye West and this sensitivity to other views allows him to rap movingly, and inventively, about subjects such as racism in Flag Shopping, fanaticism in AlQ8a, and even heartbreak and heroin in Jawn Cage.

Sonically, it's also inventive, with the ragga rhythms and itchy beats of Sometimes, the croaky beat poet flow of Home and the Chris Brown-like smoothness of Damn, Girl. Heems is shaping up to be an important voice in the rap world.
