I DO not feel comfortable around dogs and I wish that there was a law which says that all dogs should be kept on a lead at all times. In my local park (Elmdon) where I like to walk, I am often confronted with dogs wanting to jump up at me, especially the larger variety.
This week alone I have been lurched at by a Staffie type dog leaving me with a bruise on my thigh, a large 'playful' Labrador left his muddy paws all over my coat and a Bulldog type dog decided to slather me with saliva whilst I was sitting on a bench.
It seems to me that if owners shout 'he will not hurt you - he is just playing' then it is ok and I should play along. Well this is of no comfort to me and if I hear 'he likes you' one more time...grrrr!
I am genuinely alarmed when I see dogs on the loose and I wish that dog walkers would take control of their pets and remember that not everyone is at ease with their canine friends.
