Alan is all shook up for 'I do' heroes.

IT'S the thing we never thought we'd see - Alan Hughes walking down the aisle.

But he did just that as the lucky winners of TV3's Renew Your Vows competition said 'I do!" again - complete with Alan and an Elvis impersonator.

John and Lorraine Hailes jetted out to Las Vegas after stealing the hearts of the public with their tale of triumph over adversity.

The couple won the contest after coping with eight miscarriages in 10 years, followed by Lorraine giving birth to her stillborn daughter and suffering a stroke while trying to raise three children.

Lorraine revealed she didn't mind having Alan and a camera crew from Ireland AM on tow.

She said: "They were good fun and helped make the day less lonely than it might have been without our kids, family and friends there.

"Alan signed our witness section on our Graceland certificate and gave me away. I was shaking like a leaf but he calmed me down, joking I was an aisle virgin.

"It was something I had wanted to do for so long. It was quite overwhelming but still a very special moment despite the over-the-top Elvis and cameras and so on.

"It felt like a fresh start and the opportunity to focus on us as a couple again and what a place to have a second honeymoon!

Las Vegas is amazing.'' Alan Hughes said: "They are a really fantastic couple who've gone through a lot."

John and Lorraine's ceremony will be broadcast on Ireland AM today at 8.35am on TV3 and fans can follow their adventures all week on the show.
