Alan's ready for the big drop.

A WARWICK man is to fulfil an ambition as he takes the plunge for charity next month.

Alan Batchelder, of Drayton Court, Woodloes Park, is to take part in a bungee jumping extravaganza.

It will be held during the Godiva Weekend on June 5 at War Memorial Park in Coventry.

The Royal British Legion has a stall at the show and has got together with the UK Bungee Club to stage an event to raise money for ex-servicemen and women and their families.

Mr Batchelder, aged 44, said: ''A bungee jump or parachute jump is something that has always appealed to me.

''As a child I can remember going to Coventry swimming baths and climbing to the top of a diving board. It looked a long way down at only 35ft but I am now looking at taking the plunge from a 165ft tower!''

Mr Batchelder is appealing for sponsors for his dare-devil act. Anyone interested can contact him on 01926 490221.
