Al-Qaeda 'hell' vow.

AN al-Qaeda leader who escaped from a US prison in Afghanistan has warned that international forces there will suffer "hell" this winter.

In a message on an Islamic extremist website, Abu Yahia al-Libi pledged militants will have "continuous triumphs" with a series of suicide bombings and attacks on Allied bases.

Al-Libi, who escaped from Bagram prison near Kabul in 2005, also had a message for Osama bin Laden, saying al Qaeda was now "stronger than ever" in Afghanistan.

Elsewhere in the country, a suicide bomber killed two Afghan soldiers and a little girl in Helmand.

Meanwhile, in Northern Iraq, gunmen killed two Iraqi officers when they ambushed a police patrol in Mosul.

And a roadside bomb killed one person and wounded three others in Kirkuk, also in the north of the country.
